COOKBOOKS: A VARIETY OF TYPE AND PLACE

Cookbooks are one of the favorite categories at our semi-annual book sales.  There are always a variety of types of cooking and representative sampling of places around the world.  For our fall sale, we have a number of French cookbooks, along with some cookbooks featuring recipes from England, Ireland, Spain, and America.  Below are previews of some of our cookbook offerings at our upcoming September sale.

French Cooking

A cookbook by Dione Lucas, a British chef and the first female graduate of the famous French cooking school in Paris, Le Cordon Blue.

Anyone interested in classic French cooking will recognize Georges Blanc, a famous French chef.

Another well-known name in French cooking is Larousse.  This French cookbook provides a Treasury of French Country Cooking.

A regional French cookbook by Mireille Johnson offering classical French Cooking from Nice and Provence.  We also have another Johnson cookbook, The Cuisine of the Rose, which is cooking from Burgundy.

 British, Irish, and Spanish Cooking

 In addition to the French
cookbooks, we have British cooking by Jane Garmey, cooking from Ireland by Nuala Cullen, and from Spain by Mario Batali with Gwyneth Paltrow.

American Cuisine

The ultimate in food, wine, and elegant dining from the Four Seasons (1951-2019), a famous New York City restaurant known for its American cuisine (and its famous patrons).

To round out the cookbook previews are a Taste of Home comprehensive Best Loved Recipes cookbook.  Taste of Home are reader recipes that are selected to be included in their magazine and cookbooks.

And one of the most popular cookbook authors is Barefoot Contessa.  We have several of her books available at the sale, including the two below.
