George Mason Friends Sponsors New Library Science Scholarship

George Mason Friends board members present scholarship check to the Fairfax Library Foundation.
George Mason Friends has donated $50,000 to the Fairfax Library Foundation Scholarship Program to sponsor a graduate-level scholarship in library sciences. The donation will cover an annual $5,000 scholarship for ten years, with the option to renew sponsorship for additional 10-year periods. The scholarships are specifically designated for current Fairfax County Library employees and volunteers wishing to pursue a graduate degree in library sciences.

The Fairfax Library Foundation established these scholarships to enhance Fairfax public libraries' ability to ensure current and future library staff have the expertise to deliver high quality service to the residents of Fairfax County and the City of Fairfax.  Scholarships are available at the graduate, undergraduate, continuing education and graduate levels. For more information on the scholarships and how to apply, visit the Foundation's scholarship program web page.
